ROOTS EVERYWHERE On the ridge the trail goes through some lush areas. Vegetation supplies a great deal of shade while traveling on the trail. The roots create a small tunnel which the trail goes through.

OTHER RIDGE LINES Close to the rooted area is a little bench where you can enjoy the view of parallel ridges running up to the summit. If you look closely Diamond Head is just starting to come into view.

VIEW OF THE SUMMIT From the bench one can also get an excellent view of the summit ahead. The trail does not head toward this part of the summit. The trail heads off to the right of this picture.
