REMNANTS OF AN OLD PLANE CRASH

This is the wing section of an old B-24 Army Air Corps bomber that crashed in 1944  after taking off from Hickam Air field.  Debris was scattered down the valley and on the other side of the ridge.  This is the only debris that currently remains that is visible from the trail.

A PLAQUE AT THE CRASH SITE

A plaque is on a tree next to the crash site.  The weathering is starting to make the sign hard to read.  The plaque was put up a couple of years ago.
