LOOKING OUT OVER THE TRAIL From the start of the trail you can see the socked in Koolau summit. The trail takes you on the ridge which is on the right hand side of the photo. The problem with hiking to the summit is that you never know what the weather will be like when you arrive. Sometimes it is totally socked in as the picture shows.

THE PARKING AREA This is the parking area where you can park your car while hiking. Since this is a secured area your car is probably more safe here than on any other hike on the island.

THE VIEW OF THE SUMMIT AFTER RETURNING When I returned from the summit I noticed that it was not quite so socked in so I took another picture to show more of the Koolau Mountain Range.
