SUMMIT VIEW

This is a view from the summit looking east.  On clear days you can usually see the island of Molokai.  On rare occasions you can also see Lanai, Maui and even the Big Island.

VIEW OF WAIMANALO

Looking to the north east one can see Waimanalo and Rabbit Island.  If you have an imagination the island looks like a rabbit swimming in the water with his ears laid back.

LOOKING NORTH

Waimanalo and farming can be seen below.  Waimanalo beach is one of the prettiest beaches on the island.

BELLOWS AIR FORCE BASE

Looking to the north west one can see Bellow Air Force Base.  You can see the runway near the center of the picture.  One can also see a sign witch states that this is the end of the Kuliouou Trail. I would hope so since I don't feel like walking off a 2000 ft. cliff.

LOOKING WEST

If you are brave or crazy you can proceed past the sign along the summit ridge.  As you can see it is narrow, steep and highly eroded.  Perfect conditions for a fall.  No view is worth your life!

BEAUTIFUL VIEW OF KOKO CRATER AND KOKO HEAD

Looking to the southwest one can see the remnants of volcanic activity that formed these islands.  The summit I am currently standing one was once part of a huge volcano that formed the east part of Oahu.

DIAMOND HEAD FROM THE SUMMIT

A perspective of Diamond Head from the summit along with other ridges which end at the summit.

VIEW OF THE STARTING POINT

Looking back from where one started.  One can see the Kuliouou subdivision  winding up the valley from the ocean.  Speaking of ocean one wishes it was closer in order to cool off after arriving at the summit.  This is not always the case.  When the summit is socked in the combination of rain and wind can make you feel like you are in Alaska.
