WAIANAE VIEW This is a spectacular view of the Waianae coast looking southeast from Kaena Point. You can see that sand is prevalent in this area.

LIGHT HOUSE AT KAENA POINT This is the light house or "light tower" at Kaena Point. The old light house was replace with this new lighter version.

LOOKING EAST TOWARD THE NORTH SHORE This is looking east toward the North Shore. This is the other route to Kaena Point.

MOST WESTERN POINT OF OAHU The coral reef marks the most western point of Oahu. Normally you can walk out along reef but we arrived during high tide.

CLOSER VIEW OF THE REEF This is a closer view of the reef. You can see the high waves coming in which are actually higher than where we are standing. The reef, however, breaks them down to small surges before they reach us.

CRABS ON THE REEF If you look closely on the large center rock you will see a small crab on top. The tidal pools in this area have a variety of sea life such as crabs, sea cucumber, and various small fish.

TIDAL POOLS Here is a tidal pool which contains a variety of sea life. The wave action keeps the water oxygenated.

A SMALL BABY SEABIRD There are several holes in the area which were made by sea birds in order to nest. If you look closely in the hole you can see a baby sea bird which has no fear of man.

MILITARY SATELLITE STATION On the top of the ridge one can see a sphere which is a military satellite installation. You have to have a special pass to drive up to the installation.
