THE STEEP CLIMB BEGINS A view of Mt. Olympus. The trail now steeply climbs to the summit. There are several eroded areas which are slick if wet. Since the summit usually get rain this means be prepared to use vegetation to help your way up the eroded areas.

ERODED AREA One can see an eroded area at the top center of the picture. I try to go along side the eroded area as much as possible so vegetation can give me traction.

THE OTHER RIDGES Looking southeast toward the several parallel ridges running to the summit. The Lanipo Trail and the Wiliwilinui Ridge Trail go up these parallel ridges.
