VIEW OF THE SUMMIT One can see the summit and the several eroded areas. The one eroded area toward the center of the pictures has 3 possible routes. I find the route on the right is easier to climb with minimal slipping. One can also see a trail which runs parallel to the summit. This trail crosses the Mt. Olympus trail just before the eroded section.

LOOKING WEST Looking west one can see the center of the island and the Waianae Range in the distance. The Waianae Range is higher than the Koolau Mountain Range.
|
MONOA VALLEY As one moves further up the ridge more of Monoa Valley becomes visible. The Kolowalu trails starts on the south end of Monoa Valley close to where the housing ends. It then climbs the ridge and joins the Mt. Olympus trail.

LOOKING BACK AT THE RIDGE From this height one can look back at the entire length of the ridge which the Mt. Olympus trail follows. The ups and downs of the ridge is readily evident.
